En Marzo, fui con mi socio de trabajo a Londres para un viaje de negocios. Tomamos el vuelo que mas eficiente utiliza su combustible para que nos transportara de Estocolmo (mi ciudad natal) a Londres, más precisamente al aeropuerto de Gatwick.

Planeamos usar el transporte público en Londres y tomar el subte desde el aeropuerto al hotel que se encontraba cerca de «Victoria Station«. Sin embargo, Londres es una ciudad muy grande y no pudimos entender como se utilizaba el metro en ese momento, fue asi que decidimos preguntar a una compañia de traslados cómo llegar de manera sencilla al hotel. Según lo que nos comentaron, era mucho más fácil y barato ir en taxi. Claramente les hicimos caso y tomamos uno. Luego nos tomamos el trabajo de investigar como hubiera sido ese viaje en subte.

Finalmente el taxi nos costó 100 Libras y tardamos una hora en él. Cuando volvimos a realizar ese recorrido nuestro último día, descubrimos que existía un tren que nos dejaba en el aeropuerto en treinta minutos y por 20 libras. Es así que recomendamos a todos aquellos que viajen a Londres, que usen el transporte público de la ciudad. Sus conexiones son muchas y muy buenas y se puede recorrer la ciudad entera con ellas. Estén atentos ya que siempre hay gente que se abusa de los turistas que no conocen la zona.

Durante nuestro viaje mezclamos trabajo y ocio. Pudimos comer comida inglesa en hermosos restaurants, visitamos pubs y atracciones turísticas famosas. Esta lleno de lugares interesantes para visitar. Si te gusta ir de compras, les recomiendo visitar la famosa calle, Oxford Street,  si están interesados en el Royal Palace, pueden recorrer el Buckingham Palace y si les atrae conocer los famosos carteles luminosos de la ciudad, les recomiendo ir al Picadilly Circus.

En caso que quieran tener una vista panorámica de toda la ciudad, les aconsejo que visiten el ”Ojo de Londres”. Es una especie de ”rueda de la fortuna” que les permite visualizar absolutamente todo. Te genera un sentimiento muy lindo y la verdad lo super recomiendo. La experiencia puede ser aterradora para todos aquellos que tengan miedo a las alturas, así que ¡cuidado con eso!

In March, I went with my business colleague to London on a business trip. We chose the most fuel efficient airplane that took us from Stockholm to London, Gatwick.

We had planned to use the public transportation in London and take the subway from the airport to the hotel which was located near Victoria Station. But London is a huge city and we didn’t really understand how the subway worked yet, so we asked a driving company how we could get to the hotel the easiest way. According to them, it would be much easier and cheaper to go by taxi. We therefore chose to take the taxi and decided to investigate how the subway worked later.

The cab cost 100 pounds and took about one hour. When we’re returning on our last day, we realized that we could take the train directly to the airport in 30 minutes and it would only cost 20 pounds. So we recommend everyone traveling to London, check the public transportation. London has very good connections with train and you can travel anywhere in London with it. There are always people who fool inexperienced tourists.

During our trip we mixed business and pleasure. We ate great English food in pleasant restaurants, visited pubs and famous tourist attractions. There are lots of interesting places to visit in London. If you like shopping you should visit the famous shopping street, Oxford Street, if you’re interested in the Royal Palace you can visit Buckingham Palace and if you want to see the famous advertising screen/Square you should go to Picadilly Circus.

If you want to get a view of the entire London, then we recommend you to take a tour in the London Eye. It’s a Ferris Wheel that lets you look across the entire London. It’s a very cool feeling and we recommend it. It’s a little bit scary so we don’t recommend it to those afraid of heights!
